It is reported that the Phase III project of Chennai Semiconductor plans to invest approximately RMB 1 billion to support the development, testing and production of next-generation flash memory products to meet the long-term market demand for flash memory storage products driven by the future implementation of artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and 5G.
As Western Digital’s other large facility in China, in addition to the Shenzhen facility, the Phase III expansion of approximately 11,800 square meters will expand advanced product manufacturing facilities and product-focused technology development facilities, allowing Western Digital to further enhance its technology and production capacity to better meet the large, diverse and growing needs of the Chinese market, and provide a relaxed, friendly work and leisure environment for its employees.
